Renaissance Voices is an amateur choir based in Maidenhead, whose repertoire focuses on the Renaissance and Baroque periods of classical music. We normally give three concerts a year, at All Saints Church in Maidenhead, or, St. Nicolas Church in Taplow, including a special festive one at Christmas. For Christmas 2021, we performed in St James the Less, Stubbings and are hopeful that we might do the same this year.
Our Summer Concert is on Sunday June 19, at 19:00 (7 pm) and will consist of mainly light and summery English and Italian madrigals; a mixture of the well-known as well as the less familiar. The repertoire features works by Bennet, Morley, Byrd, Lasso, Arcadelt, Marenzio, Monteverdi, Weelkes and Vautor.
We are joined again this year by Turpins Consort, a select troupe of recorder players drawn from RV itself and our friends, who will also be playing some English and Italian madrigals.
The programme also features two organ solos (performed by our director, Robert Jones) and as usual, the ticket price includes the concert and refreshments afterwards.
